Struggling with IUD Pain and Trauma

my doctor had me get an IUD about a year ago to help with the pain. i honestly don't feel like it's helped that much. but it was so painful to get it placed in and it brought back a lot of trauma from when i was younger, so i'm scared to get it removed. i don't know what to do
