ITP Diagnosis - What to Expect?

hello!! I was wondering what other people's experiences were like getting itp diagnosis. Were you ever tested for other things, had spinal taps or bone marrow biopsy? thank you so much ❤

I had no idea anything was wrong. I was doing a program for a Bariatric Surgery. My general Doctor wanted me to go do my blood work because it hadn’t been done since I had Covid. The only thing that was off was my Platelets count. They did several other tests for cancer and other stuff also. No bone marrow biopsy because everything else was fine.

I was pregnant and my blood work showed I had low platlets. Seen a hemotologist who diagnosed me with Chronic ITP

I was experiencing bruising in odd, unusual places for a 4 year old (near private parts, inner thighs etc) and had gotten sickly. My parents took me to my pediatrician, who did bloodwork and told them to take me to the hospital immediately because my white blood cell count was below 10k. Once at the ER I was diagnosed with Acute ITP. No biopsies, spinal taps, etc. though!

I suffered from severe fatigue that lasted for long weeks. My pco saw my blood results and referred me to the ER. There I was diagnosed with ITP. I haven’t had any biopsy
