Irregular Periods Causing Panic Attacks

I'm sorry to hear you're having a hard time! Panic attacks are never fun and being close to or on your period definitely makes it worse. Mental and chronic illnesses are both worse in the week or so leading up to your period - its called menstrual magnification and is unfortunately totally normal because of hormone fluctuations. Pretty much anything you have will get worse until you start bleeding, which often alleviates the magnification in my experience. I'm not sure of your situation but stress can make your period late or irregular. I usually have very regular periods but one time in high school I was incredibly stressed and it was like 6 days late which really freaked me out! If your period often makes you feel this awful and/or is irregular, have you tried or considered birth control? I take the pill to manage my magnification symptoms and it has helped immensely (plus I only have 4 periods a year now which is cool lol). Please don't be worried! Many people who menstruate go through very similar situations. You don't need to be ashamed for bringing it up to your doctor, which I highly recommend you do because they can help you with this. And don't let anyone try to tell you it's normal because periods shouldn't affect your life to that extreme of a degree, they should be an annoying, messy inconvenience at best
