Dealing with Intrusive Thoughts and Anxiety

I have the most intrusive thoughts mainly while I sleep or take a quick nap. it's only been the past year but it's really messing up my sleep cycle. the only things that help are praying and meditation. my favorite meditation is called "detachment from over thinking" by Micheal sealy. it helps. but only for so long. my therapist keeps telling me to "confront your anxiety" but idk what that even means anymore. at this point I'm afraid to go to sleep.

I get this. So your therapist is kind of saying “hug and embrace your anxiety”/let it pass whereas mine had me picture it as a red balloon in the sky that I had to just watch float away into nothingness. I don’t know if that will help you or not, but thank you for sharing. I’m going to check out those meditations!

thank you for your response! I will definitely try the red balloon technique. 🎈
