Has anyone had an internal vaginal ultra sound? Nervous about mine tomorrow, tips or tricks? How long does it take?

If you have a trauma history, it can be triggering. It was very triggering for me but it helps if the tech is gentle and if they know about your trauma bc they’ll do it a little differently (so they say).

I’ve had multiple! They’re not so bad, mostly kinda uncomfortable. They will have you take your bottoms off and put on a gown, then have you lay on a bed and put your feet on some stirrups. They’ll put a sheet over your legs and take the wand (about 4-5 inches long? And it’s pretty thin too) and put a plastic covering over it, similar to a condom. Then they’ll put some warm gel on the wand, then insert it. It doesn’t hurt, just feels kinda weird. They’ll kinda wiggle it around in there and take some pictures. Depending on everything they’re looking for, it usually doesn’t take much longer than 10-15, on average. Sometimes longer, sometimes shorter. It might help to communicate your anxieties to the ultrasound tech before they do it, so they can explain everything to you and help you feel a bit less anxious. Good luck! ❤️‍🩹

I haven’t but I know it’s probably in my future. I will be super nervous when the time comes. I wish you the best and most comfortable experience possible. ❤️‍🩹
