Experiencing Internal Anxiety and Panic Attacks

does anyone ever experience internal anxiety / panic attacks? like your body may be tense or panicking but your brain isn’t, or vise versa? it may be because i have an overactive amygdala and my fight or flight / panic response misfires often, but i wasn’t sure if anyone else has ever experienced this

Yes omg I hate when that happens. Especially physical manifestations of anxiety and not knowing what caused it

Yeah, that happened a lot when I was off my meds. I would be like almost screaming to myself inside my head, and if someone tried talking to me, I felt like I couldn't move. The one time I *could*, I ended up almost hyperventilating and idk why.

Yeah, I've learned to accept the fact that my anxiety will present itself more and more as physical tension rather than racing thoughts. It's annoying because I can't like CBD away muscle tension.

Yup. Mainly for me, it'll be manifest in picking behaviors, gritting my teeth without realizing it, etc. I'll be tense and on edge about absolutely **nothing** as far as specific triggers and not really feel the anxiety mentally at all.

Yes I’ve had it where my body is in OVERDRIVE but my brain is like - oh, things are happening 🤷‍♀️. (I hope that makes sense?)
