Insurance Denied My MRI: Frustration and Hope

If I need to get an MRI my insurance makes me jump through the standard hoops get an X-ray, go to PT, and then maybe get the MRI

Yes I know which is why I won’t let them anymore x rays or ct scans lol but omg I would be so afraid to lie and then it happens for real 😩

CT scan is also radiation so be careful with those. I would call your insurance yourself and speak to a supervisor if possible. Or my doctor once told me if you go through the emergency room and tell them you have a brain tumor and are having symptoms they have to do it. I know this sounds drastic but if it comes down to it it may be an option

But I did have a CT scan of my head in December at the hospital.. that doctor even put that I needed an mri if symptoms continue or get worse..

I’ve had 3 since august of different places. I’m not getting any more x rays done because that’s radiation.. and I’m not sure if i can get a x ray of my brain though Lol

I hate when this happens!!! Just a word of advice from experience, sometimes they will approve the MRI if you go and have an X-ray done first. It seems odd but I can’t tell you the number of times this has happened.

My doctor is doing an appeal but who knows how long that will take smh..

Fight that … they usually deny it but if you fight it they may do it
