How to Work with an Insulin Sliding Scale?

How does everyone work with a insulin sliding scale when eating? Like do you do 1 unit for every 10 carbs or 1 unit for every 5 carbs, etc?

Ok interesting. I was told by my doctor to just to a fixed number of 4 units when I eat. But that doesn’t work a lot of the time. Since everything you eat is different with how many carbs it has. So now I do 1 unit for every 10 carbs I eat.

I do 1 unit per 10 carbs. When I was first diagnosed it was 1 to 15 but it’s changed in ten years .
