Dealing with Anxiety and Depression after an Injury

my anxiety and depression has been really bad lately...... I hurt my foot/ankle back in 2016 landed all 215lbs on my foot as it sat sideways as I tripped over 2 concrete steps to prevent a 2yr old from running in front of the school bus as it was coming to a stop to let her sister off...... Well lately I've been having severe pain when walking so I went to an orthopedic doctor and was placed in a medical boot till I got an MRI and results back from it.... Well I have the results and go to the doc wed afternoon.... The results read that i "ruptured the tendon connecting my 5th metatarsal to my ACL" well considering that injury has been there for the last 6years I've researched what it would take to heal it or fix it and it would take surgery and a recovery time of at least 6 months ...... I've been having extreme anxiety over this appointment and it hasn't even happened yet.... And I've been having really bad nightmares when both awake and asleep.... To the point where i e been having anxiety attacks

Talking to a therapist or psychiatrist might be a good idea for your anxiety. That’s a pretty sucky situation so it’s totally understandable to have anxiety attacks, but if you can find a way to make that better, it’ll make the whole process a lot easier. My mom used to do surgeries like that on a daily basis and while the recovery time is long, it’ll heal up and you’ll be ok. If you want me to ask her for more info feel free to message me and I’ll see if I can get in touch with her.
