Budget everything and put spend money into it's own account so if you spend it all you won't go any further.

i personally have somebody trustworthy discuss my finances with me on the regular to keep me in check but i realize that this isn't an available option for everyone. i contact my mom whenever i feel like buying something unnecessary and it helps a lot and she talks me out of it like 60% of the time (which is better than nothing!)

Some people manage impulsive buying by leaving items in their cart for 24 hours before purchasing. Others suggest making a checklist of bills and payments that need to be paid each month, and not allowing oneself to spend on anything else until those are paid off. Some people also use separate accounts or set aside a specific amount of cash per month for non-essential purchases. Another method is to ask the bank to automatically decline cards if they reach a certain amount spent or when the balance gets low. Additionally, some people find it helpful to channel their impulses into other activities like housework, reading, or physical exercise.
