Anyone else immunocompromised and isolated, becoming more and more unadjusted to socialization and feeling so alienated by the ‘return to normal’ ‘post-Covid’ mentality that you’re almost too misanthropic to deal with it? End of my rope here.

      @Katekatt how did Christmas go for you? We ended up visiting a small amount of family 1:1 and fully masked the whole time. I was so anxious about the possibility of Covid (we live in NY), I nearly canceled all of it. So far, we are okay, but what ended up being stressful was explaining WHY we are still masking everywhere. I think that’s about 30% of my avoidance going out - the explaining of why I’m trying to protect what little health I have left.

      I hear you! I’ve currently been sick for FIVE DAYS because people at my job won’t stay home when sick 😥 now I’m suffering with whatever I caught (not COVID confirmed) and Christmas is just a few days away. I’m getting almost too comfortable with isolation and now I don’t wanna go out with friends again since I possibly got sick that way too. I’m struggling.

      Yes. Yes. Yes. I had to quit my job - teaching - because working remotely was no longer an option and I cannot risk being in a room of 30 unmasked kids. The friends I’ve know forever have basically accepted that they ‘will get Covid’ eventually and take no precautions. I used to feel okay having select people over to our house, but not any more. And, I am more and more disgusted with people who won’t don’t the bare minimum (mask in public) to keep those of us at high risk safe and able to have a bit of a life. Woohoo that felt good to get out!

      I rarely ever leave the house or socialize except on the internet. I'm kind of lame, I guess.

        @Niffer222 nah, I’m the same. Can’t be indoors with people for my own safety. I’m on here bc I can feel myself getting weird, my anxiety getting worse etc. the positions we’ve been put in by life and time and society don’t dull your cool. How are you passing the time? I’m mostly in my garden these days.

          @goblin yes, I’m becoming anxious and more and more agoraphobic. Gardening is great and I am spending a lot of time with my dogs. Trying to find more online groups to chat with humans 😂
