      393d

Just about anything I eat aggravates my heartburn

    • MischiefsGirl

      396d

Alcohol and caffeine for me. Haven't been able to have any in years now.

    • BethEntrekin

      397d

Alcohol. I feel like death about ten minutes after having alcohol

    • ZeroMelody

      397d

Physical matter. In my GI tract. Different things set off different parts of my health issues. Most foods will make me feel sh!t in some way or another. :'c

    • Lembasbread

      400d

      High fructose/fructane content food

    • probablysleeping

      403d

Spicy food, alcohol and acidic foods make my GERD flare up and also bad for my Ulcerative Colitis/digestion in general. I wish I could cut out caffeine to know if that negatively effects me, particularly fatigue and insomnia, because I consume it all of the time, but I'm too addicted....

    • FatHammie

      403d

I'm no good with alcohol. It makes me feel awful within a couple of drinks. Also I have to watch how many citrus fruits I have. I'm okay to have them in water, but eating them is a different story.

    • elvendork

      404d

      Still figuring it out 🥲

      • ZeroMelody

        397d

@elvendork never a fun point to be at, hope you can get a grasp of what works best for you soon. 💕

Inflammation from lactose intolerance really hits different

    • Marjo

      408d

Stressful situations trigger my system with flushing, sweating, heart racing, IBS-D, insomnia, general pain increases. Iceberg & Romaine Lettuce, Red Wine, Acidic Foods, Spicy Foods.

I’m still trying to figure out because it seems like it changes day to day

    • Moggy

      416d

I can't eat a lot of dairy as it affects my skin causing it flare up and creak like eczema and it's sets my chest off I have switched to oat and almond milk but these still flare up my skin and tomatoes, pineapples and peaches set off my chest and my stomach cramps and I m allegric to these anyway

    • Seae

      416d

Casein allergy specifically. But I avoid all of those

      • Seae

        407d

@Seae Also soy, artificial sweeteners, processed foods, spicy food, anything very chewy, and a bunch of things I’m forgetting…

    • eternalgemini

      418d

I cannot digest cruciferous vegetables. They absolutely kill and murder my stomach. Brussel sprouts = death in my tummy. Sometimes natural is not always the best. This will flare up my acid reflux big time. Extreme stomach discomfort.

      • geonaut

        405d

@eternalgemini if my symptoms have been bad recently I cannot tolerate them or leafy greens. Otherwise they seem to be fine in small amounts for me.

    • Maizy

      418d

Heavily salted things set me off

    • viviennemma

      418d

Caffeine makes me so anxious but I 💗 coffee

    • CrazyMeerkat

      419d

I am intolerant to chocolate but I can't survive without eating chocolate. So there we are, enjoying my flares up 🤣🤣

    • Bubbl3s

      419d

      Dairy, eggs and legumes mostly

    • LE95

      420d

not a food specifically but greese. i love pizza and other greecy foods but if something has like the wetness of greese all over it, i dry it or avoid it. if i eat too much greese i get really sick and ready bad acid reflux.

      • eternalgemini

        418d

@LE95 Me too! The more greasy the food the more my stomach upset, and in turn the more pain increase and horrible heartburn.

    • Bakon

      424d

Marinera sauce specifically. Tomatoes on their own are fine but marinara sauce causes a lot of issues

    • Pattie96

      424d

Tomatoes… noticing it causes more pain for both my stomach and chronic pain

    • PrivyPink

      426d

Salt seems to be the bane of my existence

    • Katharina

      426d

I think I’m lactose intolerant but even lactate milk bothers me…. Anyone know why? (And since I switched to not drink as much milk other issues, like tonsil stones, have resolved.) yet I can have cheese and some other dairy. But not strait milk.

      • Seae

        416d

@Katharina I was going to say maybe casein allergy, but cheese has very high casein content.

    • Traveller23

      426d

      Milk and boiled sweets

    • lizzythelizard

      426d

I'd say dairy bc it makes me get more mucus in my chest so I get stuffed up but I like cheese so I probably won't really change

    • Mafuyu

      428d

For me it’s fried foods BIG TIME- I feel as though I even look at something fried or greasy and I feel awful!

    • WitchyWoman89

      428d

      Red meats

    • AriEden

      428d

sorry I believe in real things

      • WitchyWoman89

        428d

@AriEden very rude. Some foods cause inflammation in the body, thats actually a scientific fact.

    • MysticFae

      432d

      Msg makes mine worse. 🥲

    • Karmaline

      433d

      Milk, cream, and coffee. 😥

    • Klingon

      Tomatoes

    • SammyJay

      433d

      Aspartame a sugar substitute

    • hippo05

      433d

Acidic foods (especially tomato based). No ketchup for me...

    • Neuco

      433d

Anything with high fibre or high acidity. Annihilates my colon. Only thing on the list that's iffy for me is soda because of the fizz.

    • serunika

      434d

For me, the worst is refine sugar. After sipping sweet drinks, my body will respond to it quickly with feel-like a 'burn' sensation on my back.. another trigger for me: msg. I easily got petechiae or nosebleed afterwards.

    • carter._.16

      434d

Fried foods, carbonation, dairy, too much caffeine, too much sugar. Fresh fruits and veggies make me sick so that's fun. There's a lot thats just not good for me :/

    • pixieluna

      435d

I'd have to say diary but it's mainly milk. I get really ill if I have milk, yet I can eat cheese in moderation with no effect

      • Seae

        407d

@pixieluna You could be lactose intolerant; the amount of lactose drops off sharply when cultured or fermented (yogurt, cheese, etc). Might be worth trying Lactaid?

    • Knees

      435d

When I stopped eating French fries for every meal my hands stopped locking up as bad

    • Harli

      435d

Not necessarily always fried but when something has just way too much grease on it where it's dripping grease, that usually messes with my stomach bad.

    • Haleyc210

      436d

Trying to avoid feels impossible some days

    • GlitchSky

      436d

      Acidic foods

    • Sadie7B

      436d

      Caffeine

    • AimeeB

      437d

Coffee goes right through me, but I still drink it (I have to choose between a terrible headache possible flare up, the headache wins) but onions and milk are the worst triggers for me

    • 100Percent_K

      437d

      Red meat

    • Valkar

      437d

Eating makes me sick, taking the first bite of food is always super difficult.

    • AJ13

      452d

No foods, only stress, worry, excitement 😥

    • survivor_girl96

      452d

Soda drives me crazy. It tastes very flat with a metallic aftertaste

    • SuccinctAbilities

      453d

Any caffeine will do it, but also I need it to function with the amount of sleep my illness is costing me 😭

    • krinkle

      453d

      Slim jims

      • krinkle

        453d

    • AndromedaSpark

      453d

Dairy, apples, grease, overly processed food

    • Ashcookie

      454d

For me it's sugar like even if I have a lot of fruit it'll mess me up. That's why I just stick to just blueberries a day.

    • Q31525

      454d

easy, milk affects me the most. but not because of my illness. i’m mildly allergic to it 😅 won’t stop me from eating ice cream though

    • IAmTired247

      454d

Anything with a high histamine level, so basically all delicious food 😭

    • AnimalBoy

      454d

My only sensitivity that isn't an allergy is for specific types of icing. Usually decorators icing is the worst and cream cheese, whipped cream, and marshmallow icings seem to be the best for some reason.

    • MidlightTheNightFury

      455d

Random just what ever my stupid useless body decides

    • willownyx

      455d

it's strange, some sodas really upset my stomach and some are completely fine and I haven't quite figured it out yet ^^;; but cheese specifically always makes me feel super sick, along with red meat and any hot drinks giving me symptoms similar of food poisoning or an allergic reaction of some kind. not sure why it happens but I just try to avoid them as a result (or I live with the consequences of eating cheese anyway because it tastes so good but is so goddam deadly aaa)

    • SapleMyrup

      455d

Sodas and artificial sweeteners kill me

    • Femalepotato

      455d

      Greasy/ Spicy food.

    • Muffen91

      456d

Almost everything. If I can't have it due to my gastroparesis or all the ulcers due to my GP, I can't have it due to my food allergies/sensitivities.

    • psw

      457d

      Raw plants.

    • RMSjohns

      474d

    • Nocturnaldove

      474d

      Artificial sweeteners

    • Froppy

      474d

      Caffeine and alcohol

    • BbyBunnny

      474d

Basically any sugar, i have fructose malabsorption (fructose intolerance) And fructose is in like everything, so eating most foods cause me stomach pain

    • Creator

      481d

So far, the only food that gives me the pain is Pizza, and that's only if I accidentally eat too much, I have to eat it slow and not alot at once or I feel like I'm dying later.

    • royalty

      481d

Mainly artificial dyes. But maybe I should cut most of these out once I can afford it and see if there is any difference.

    • MichealB

      481d

Dairy mostly. Coffee can give me bad cramps tho

      481d

      Caffeine

      498d

For me dairy sometimes does sometimes doesn’t. Greasy food just makes me feel 🤢

    • Aaronb03

      498d

Red meat and processed foods make me feel emotionally horrible, my Dr advised a Mediterranean diet and it's helping a lot

    • thisgirl2311

      498d

I can't have acidic stuff.. pineapple, oranges ect. Which stinks because I love them!!

    • Issalot

      498d

Garlic, onion, peppers, acidic foods and butterfingers

      • Starsunmoon

        453d

@Issalot onions are a big one for me! I didn’t eat any red meat for years, then realised that it sometimes made me sick because people put onions in burgers! I can eat mince meat now, and I avoid onions at all costs

    • Hollybelle

      498d

Really anything can set off a flare. Too much sugar. Too much protein. Too many carbs. Too many veg. Random never the same.

    • feralsharkdog

      499d

Some dairy, like regular milk or ice cream, messes with my asthma. But that's it.

    • Captain_Honey

      500d

I'm lucky and no foods make my chronic pain worst. Just movement and exercise.

    • dogmum

      500d

      • eternalgemini

        418d

@Amanda1993 I'm with you there! When everything sets you off... If you know what I mean. Ugh, very frustrating. 😞

    • yumzy199725

      501d

Yeah definitely caffeine but can't cut it out all together so have to have it at some point I drink decaffeinated tea aswell.

    • Kittypop

      501d

Had to go thru so many tests (ultrasound, endoscopy, etc.) & be told I "just have heartburn" only to randomly find a video on YouTube explaining Tight Junctions...I might not have Celiac, but gluten does not agree with my digestive tract 🙅🏻‍♀️ thank goodness for digestive enzymes

    • maharahnee

      501d

Any food containing salycilates such as most fruits, caffeinated beverages, veggies except starches.

    • rolling_pigs

      501d

      Caffeine and leafy veg

      • Greenfiretrucks

        435d

@rolling_pigs CAFFEINE IS SO BAD WITH POTS

        • 55isMe

          432d

@Greenfiretrucks it is for some people, but i resumed using it reading contadictive data. For me, it works really well with the Imitrex that it overwhelmingly is better than avoiding. About 12-18 ounces of Mtn Dew a day. About 6 ounces with Imitrex and the others during mid day. Allows a lot more upright time before the heart racing takes off. (I do reach 170 to 200bpm.)
