I recommend trying to read and understand the dsm-5 and looking into the experiences of people who have it. The dsm-5 isnt perfect and doesn't fully describe it. (There's a lot of bias in the dsm and there's a lot of critique. thats why i recommend you do both.) If you know someone with adhd ask them about their experience or look up videos and blogs of people who have it and talk about it. Its also worth it to look up someone's dissection of what the dsm-5 means and what that actually looks like in a person if the wording in the book doesn't help you connect it to real life. (Because its pretty bad at that)

I was able to get diagnosed after doing a lot of research and thinking about myself before seeking that testing. And If you do reasearch and make education decisions its not harmful, and hopefully it'll lead to you understanding the disorder a bit better in the very least.

Not every case is similar but sometimes you can tell by a person's lack of focus or their extreme focus on certain things. Or even if they have difficulty staying chill and relaxed at certain times. But it's different for each individual. 😊 I have adhd myself those are things I've noticed for myself.
