I’m wondering how others manage sex & IBS especially constipation/flatulence heavy - I’ve been in so many awkward situations and want to know what others are doing!

The only person I feel comfortable with sexually is the one I've been with for 5 years. :/ They know what I deal with in regular life (not just the bedroom) and how IBS symptoms affect me so there are no surprises in the bedroom. And if I feel weird I can say it. And they don't care. Anyone else I've been with, I am extremely self conscious about this stuff too. It's not fun. I've had a really embarrassing moment actually that I don't even feel comfortable saying on an anonymous platform lol sooooo I. GET. IT. I wish it were as simple as, go find you someone you can be comfortable with too. Because it's not. :/

I try to avoid sex if I am too bloated or constipated because it could be painful. I try to control flatulence with simeticone, which is usually quite effective. Your partner should be informed about the fact your condition could make sex very uncomfortable, painful or unplesant for you. Xx
