@KratomEater i was thinking the same, as so far i haven't felt as if it were making me "high" so to speak. i do feel a bit more focused however

Be careful with it. It gets you high

@Phasers I see what you’re saying but I took it for quite some time(now I’m on methylphenidate/Concerta) and I never felt “high” per say. What it’s designed to do is connect neuro pathways such as dopamine receptions that are associated with concentration. Now, I’m sure if you take more than the recommended dose you can feel high. But in general, when used correctly, I don’t think it really gets you high. When taken daily the body may develop a dependence because those with ADHD are lacking the key to enough dopamine in the brain. So once the brain gets the correct amount of dopamine for example let’s say 5 years then you stop taking it out of the blue there can be some adverse effects. Not so sure if there is any intense withdrawal. So the takeaway here is, anything that’s abused can be bad and anything in moderation can be helpful. That being said I 100% respect your point of view. I just wanted to share mine 🙏🏽😊

i was ok it for 2 years, 1. how did u get it when there’s a nationwide shortage?😭 wish i was u :( 2. expect to lose weight and struggle to maintain a healthy eating schedule. the best thing u can do is make sure u maintain it and eat as regularly as possible or else the adderall will make u feel like really bad on the come down

Make sure to not take it too close to bed time or you’ll have trouble falling asleep. My doctor recently prescribed me a lower dose of not XR so I can take that layer in the day if I need more

I take 10mg of XR, and I’ve found that for me, withdrawal in the evenings can be pretty rough. Emotional regulation is a lot harder so I get more anxious/sad/angry if I feel any of those emotions. I just try to relax around that time (about 12hr after taking dose) so I can sleep well. Definitely would recommend looking up common side effects to watch out for, too :)

@FlowMage i did notice one of the side effects was anxiety. this honestly makes me nervous to take it, as i have GAD and Panic Disorder :/

@derangedoctopus72 Totally understand. I have GAD, too. Adderall does make it a little worse for me…I’ve also been prescribed a low dose of Lexapro for the anxiety generally and that’s helped a lot. If Adderall is making your anxiety a lot worse, definitely talk to your prescriber. There’s lots of other medications and treatments. :)

It can help but may be hard to get off of it when you’re thinking it’s time to take a break. I take Concerta which is similar. Just be careful not to take your usual amount of caffeine with it. It can cause anxiety or panic attacks.
