I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism around 8 years ago and over the last 4 years I have gained weight that I am struggling to lose. 2 of my aunts and my mom all have thyroid issues and issues with losing weight and I have seen them all try so many different things with minimal results. I was wondering if anyone with thyroid issues has successfully gotten back to a healthy weight and how you did it.

Intermittent fasting works, I lost 5 stone. Trouble is once I reached my goal I stopped, so I've put it all back on plus another stone 🙈

It sounds like you’re on the wrong dosage of your Synthroid or thyroid medicine. I’ve had hypothyroidism since I was six years old and the only time I had problems with weight is when I was on the wrong day to the medicine.

Intermittent fasting and green smoothie did it for me and especially education about insulin resistance. Dropped the sugar and carbs, did a green smoothie with lemon, ginger, CELERY, spinach, advacodo, and a little honey for breakfast, did a little exercise before breakfasts. DROPPED 10LBS IN ONE WEEK. WENT FROM 215 @5'4" TO 193 IN LES THAN TWO MONTHS and I wasn't as consistent as I could have been. Actually think I took a three week break. 😳 so it got rid of my inflammation and dropped my a1c with no meds from 6.8 to 6.2

It's a struggle to be sure. I've recently lost a little bit but have a long way to go. The first place I would start is making sure you have good blood sugar control.
