Looking for Hypothyroidism Support Group

Good evening! I am Dyrim and at the gentle urging from my neighbor I have finally started looking for a group to get/give support about my hypothyroidism. Does anyone do any diets specifically for this that they find helps midigate symptoms?

The big ones are gluten and dairy that you should avoid as much as possible. It is those proteins that our body gets confused with the enemy and it produces more antibodies to attack our thyroid.

I mostly eat whole, unprocessed foods. Lean proteins, healthy fats, whole grains and tons of vegetables. I really like to make 'poke bowls' they are super healthy and tasty!

Hello Dyrim, welcome! I try to eat more clean foods to control my weight such as eggs, meat, fish, vegetables, gluten-free grains and seeds and some forms of dairy.

Hi Dyrim! Would love to share some tips with you that I got from my nutritionist in order to ease my hypothyroidism symptoms- she told me to avoid foods like onions, garlic and apples to stop bloating, eat beans and whole grains to ease constipation, to drink plenty of water, drink tea or coffee in the morning for extra energy and eat dairy free and gluten free foods. Also I heard that in order to lose weight the Zone diet might be effective. All of these have really helped me along the way, hope they can help you too!
