For me, bipolar 1, mania lasts about 8-10 days usually. I have symptoms periodically between actual manic episodes. I do know that for type 2 manic episodes have to have a certain number of criteria for a minimum of 4 days. Type 1 is a minimum of a week. They are often out of nowhere for me.

This is also how mine is! One minute, youre watching youtube and the next, everything pops off and its like being a human tornado for a few hours. My depression spells are long but my mania has always been short

I know for bipolar 1, mania can last for about a week, according to my doctor. With 2, it can last days, weeks, or up to a month. I might have them backwards though.

Sometimes I get short boughts of what feels like hypomania that only last a few hours. Usually a hypomania cycle will hit me suddenly waking up one day. I haven't had many manic cycles in the past few years, but I definitely remember them.

I have these same kind of manic cycles! I honestly prefer to be in them because things get done easier but they don't happen often. I do tend to have days where it seemingly comes out of nowhere as well though
