Hypomania: I Don't Want It to End

I’m currently on an up, hypomania. And as selfish as it sounds I don’t want it to end. I’m so tired and sick of the depression and and the numbness and I know it’s selfish but I want this feeling to last I haven’t felt this good in forever

It’s very common for people with bipolar to rather their mania than depression. Knowing the exact opposite of the harsh and dark inner feelings, to excited- ready to take on the world- productive feelings, are amazing. Managing your mania and having it work for you, not the other way around. Taking the medication is good as it keeps us from spilling over and putting ourselves in harms way. Just be mindful of what you’re doing and how you’re doing it.

Even while still on meds, you may have flare-ups. It's not selfish at all. I personally see the mania as kind of a double-edged sword. I hate it when it's the kind that causes irritability, but I do enjoy the kind where I can get a lot accomplished and I try to take advantage of it because I know it won't last very long in my case.

❤️I know that feeling. Try meditating and thinking about your state. Maybe there are practical things you can do to keep a good mood while making good choices.
