Hypoempathy for Humans, Hyperempathy for Animals

I have low empathy, I don't really feel anything when a human is upset. But it seems like all my empathy goes towards animals. I'm hyper empathetic whenever I see an animal that could be slightly upset or inconvenienced, I feel it in my soul and body. I watch horror movies with people in terrible situations and feel nothing but when puss was scared in puss in boots I wanted to cry. I don't know if there's any actual reason for this, yes I grew up around animals but I also grew up around humans? Does anyone else experience hypoempathy for humans and hyperempathy for animals?

I do slightly, I have hyperempathy for people I'm close with. But I could care less about strangers or people I barely know, if anything I feel uncomfortable because I know that I should be empathetic and I don't really feel much for them. And when it comes to movies, I feel nothing at all for their pain. I know someone who feels somewhat similar to me and he described it as "seeing strangers as npc's rather than real people" and I think that's maybe the best way to describe it.
