Hypersexuality and Mental Health Diagnoses: A Weird Question

Not to get to spicy! Buuuut. I have a weird question. Not including medication side effects, do you think any of your mental health diagnoses have hypersexuality or a high libido as a symptom? In context, I don’t just mean impulsive promiscuity or a sex/porn addiction, etc. I always thought I had a high sex drive because of ocd. I literally thought the routine of being in a relationship and regular sex etc was a symptom (I didn’t have self destructive behavior in this department). But now I’m hearing it can be a symptom of ADD/ADHD

Bipolar 1 for me has made me like this for a long time

I mean maybe. I have ADHD and am unmedicated at the moment and I have an incredibly high libido.

@Flint I think I’ve always been like that anyway but I know what you mean! When I got on Wellbutrin exercise actually felt good. And before I knew it I was going for 1-2 hours every day! I think once the Wellbutrin made me actually feel “runners high” I started to crave it! And like I said it’s not like I got unhealthy with it (like orthorexia or exercise bulimia). I also chalked it up to OCD and the comfort of routine but now that you mention it I think it’s deff the dopamine rush

If you have adhd your brain craves things that get you a lot of dopamine and sex can be one of those things

Hmm, I know it’s a def a possible symptom of many disorders, but with all of mine I have lowered libido 😅
