How do you handle hyperfixations?

How do you go about hyperfixations/special interests? I've seen a lot of people who will have a lot that they kind of "bounce" from month to month, but me personally I tend to have just one single hyperfixation that consumes my life for a year plus.

Special interests and hyperfixations are different things - special interests last for long times and are pretty much an exclusive autism thing , wheras hyperfixations are not as long term and are common with a few neurodivergencies

I have one that lasts for a really long time that fades sometimes and is replaced by another for a while, and vice versa
