Just diagnosed with HSV-1, need advice!

Hello! I was just diagnosed with hsv-1 and my brain is a mess. So what happened: last week I got super sick and tested positive for strep but it wasn’t getting better. I could barely swallow water and had a 101 fever. Then a cold sore appeared on my bottom lip on Monday. I got it swabbed and came back hsv1 positive. I am currently on valtrex and have been using abreva + cold sore patch. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to heal the sore faster? Also what are the stages? Is it supposed to pop before it crusts over? I havent been touching it like at all and have been super careful around my housemates. I just have to see my whole family for the holidays and I am so scared to be judged. Any suggestions, advice, comments would be really appreciated ❤️

Hey, I'm late lol but hourly this can help you if you have another outbreak. I have genital herpes but occasionally get coldsores in the winter and I usually just use Abreva and it clear up in a few days. And it will usually become a blister and then pop on its on, then it'll crust over and start healing. But if you get frequent outbreaks then I suggest taking a 500mg lysine supplement and tea tree oil mixed with coconut oil helps with outbreaks. I've also heard lemon balm helps. But if you don't get frequent outbreaks (at least 1 a month) and just every once every few months, the Abreva should do you justice.
