for those out there who also have selective mutism: does anyone ever feel like they are living a double life? in some situations and around some friends I can talk fine, but then in others I can't talk at all. and when the two collide, it gets so confusing!

Yep, been there. It's so aggravating when I just can't spit out the words I need to. It's like someone took my tongue and words don't exist to me anymore. It's especially frustrating when it happens quickly in a social situation or argument and people get mad and confused at me. And then it's not like I can explain myself to them.
