Hormonal Fluctuations and Depression in Women

Women, do any of you wonder if your hormones cause fluctuations in your depression? Have you been able to figure it out if you have this thought?

look into premenstrual dysphoric disorder if your hormones cause severe depressive symptoms before each period. this is something i used to have in high school that genuinely made me fear for my life each month. for me, birth control magically cured it by regulating my hormones for me. eventually i was able to stop taking birth control and my symptoms never returned. if before your period you feel extremely depressed, suicidal, have intrusive thoughs, erractic/impulsive behavior, etc, and it fades back to normal levels of depression within a week or two, definitely talk to your doctor.

I’m going to track. It’s just just my PMS week but I wonder if it is always the same time each month. Thank you everyone
