Hello T1 d's I have to share some very happy news. For the 1st time since I've been diagnosed I am hopeful about my diabetes. It never occurred to me to actually see an endocrinologist. I saw one yesterday for the 1st time and not only did he have so much helpful information but he also elevated my care. I left the office almost in tears because it's the 1st time in so long that I felt like I might be able to actually manage my diabetes. I have lots of lows and lots of highs and I also have a lot of protein in my blood. Which concerns me because that means my kidneys are being affected and I don't want kidney failure down-the-line. He also recommended a gynecologist for me because I have incredibly painful shocking itching in my perineal area from peeing out so much sugar. I saw her today and she is gonna help me so much with the medications that she recommended that my primary care physician I don't think was aware of in treating my diabetes and my perineal distress. It's nice to have hope in treating my diabetes.
