it's an anxiety disorder, people with it usually fear places and situations that might cause panic, helplessness, or embarrassment. An example of housebound agoraphobia is when someone is afraid to leave their own home.

Thank you, same with you! And I totally get that, I have a dissociative disorder on top of BPD and agoraphobia so it's hard for me to drive safely for right now because I'll be on autopilot and won't remember getting from point A to B, I have to take an Uber or beg my parents to take me. I still wear masks because they help me feel less seen 🥲

Over here! I've always thought I had social anxiety growing up and I eventually came to manage it as an adult. When the pandemic hit, I was terrified to leave my home and I still am, I used to always go out with friends but now I'm home 90% of the time. My therapist identified my social anxiety as housebound agoraphobia. I always look forward to going to therapy but every time I leave the house to go to therapy, I dissociate so hard I rarely remember getting there and coming back. 😅

I also dissociate really badly I’m glad I’m not alone even though it sucks. I can’t even go in the car at this moment and time. I feel very alone in it. And I hope you find healing and recovery soon .
