I had to walk a long distance all around a wildlife park yesterday and ever since, my hips have been killing me. It’s making me feel like I need a cane for walking long distances but I always feel like I’m not sick enough for a cane

I skipped over getting a cane and went straight for a rollator walker with a seat. At first it worried me what others would think... but It's helped me tremendously so I've learned not to care. If you think you would benefit from it, do it!
Like cloudlight said, there's no minimum threshold you have to meet to use any mobility aid. Basically, if you feel like your mobility/quality of life would improve (even slightly) by using a cane or other mobility aid, then that's enough to use one. Which, I gotta admit, that's easier said than done. But I've bought myself a cane, just in case a time comes that I need it

Aid devices have no minimum struggle requirement! If you know that a cane will help you, use it! I don't have an EDS diagnosis but the finger joint braces made for people with EDS help me avoid pain and mobility problems in my hands, so I use them! There's no need to force yourself to suffer because you think you aren't already suffering enough to deserve help
