High Ferritin Levels and Fatty Liver Disease

Haven’t actually been diagnosed with fatty liver disease yet but just curious if anyone had high ferritin levels when they were diagnosed? I have autoimmune diseases so I’m trying not to panic but I’m feeling overwhelmed.

Hi! The way FLD was described to me by my doctor (and by a GI specialist because I was also very fearful, so I doubled checked) is that it is benign. If you carry extra weight on your body you will also carry some in your liver. I was told that in order to reduce the amount of fat in my liver would be to lose 10% of my body weight. I was told that it’s not something to worry about! I know this doesn’t answer your main question, but as someone with health anxiety I know how scary these things can be. I hope this reduced your anxiety a tad!

thanks so much! I’m hoping that it is this and not something else. My doctor is running a bunch of blood work to rule other autoimmune diseases out
