High B12 Levels - Need Advice

Has anyone had issues with super high B12 levels? I stopped taking B12 supplements, multivitamin, and altered my diet some (like dropping vitamin water) and for the last couple years every time my levels are tested it's high, and frequently still getting higher. Don't know if I'm having any adverse effects from it, but my doc has been trying to help me lower it to normal levels.

Have your kidneys been checked out? I ask because it's unusual to have really high b12 levels. B12 is water soluble, so any excess is usually removed from the body through urine. If you don't know what is causing your levels to be so high it might be important to push for more investigating into it

Thank you. I will definitely bring that up with my PCP when I see her in a couple weeks. Not sure when I'll get my levels checked again. She usually does it 3 or 4 times a year.

do you eat a lot of meat or other animal products? you might have to go at least mostly vegetarian, that's where B12 comes from in your diet

Thank you, I didn't know that. Unfortunately the problem with big dietary changes for me is that I have no teeth, so good choices are already limited. I'm joining a comprehensive pain clinic in June, and one of their specialists is a nutritionist. I'm looking forward to working with them and figuring out a diet that covers all the bases and I can actually eat.
