Struggling with Bipolar Disorder and Suicidal Thoughts

Im 32 and was diagnosed bipolar at 16. I’ve been having suicidal thoughts since I was 8 and I’m just so exhausted. My doctor is giving me referrals for TMS and ketamine. Anybody tried either? Im leaning more towards ketamine.

I didn't want to use ketamine as it's too intense so used an alternative. Psychedelics are not recommended for bipolar but it is good for ptsd and depression so I tried it anyway. Definitely not something to play with but I do know it's helping me and many others. It's just really important to have your dr involved. There are lots of different issues to consider before you try it.

I've done some psychedelic therapy and it was extremely helpful for my ptsd. I'm bipolar as well and the therapy is helpful in seeing what's really wrong in our lives compared to what WE THINK is wrong. Like our sick brains tell us we're hopeless and things will never get better. In therapy you clearly can see that those are falsehoods and you remember it forever. It's a learned skill. I can now change channels in my brain if I start getting anxious or depressed. I just tell myself the truth. I'm ok. Not a hopeless, annoying parasite like my brain would like me to believe. It's not a cure but it's helped me cut through the crazy to see the actual source of some of my issues so I can work on them.

My history with bipolar and suicidal thoughts is similar. I'm almost at the point of trying TMS, we're trying two more drugs first. I've heard good things and even people I know who tried it and didn't benefit said that it was an easy procedure, no serious side effects. What makes you lean towards ketamine? I haven't heard much about it in regards to treating bipolar.
