I’m having trouble getting any sort of help from doctors so hoping to talk to others and see what I can do to help myself. A couple friends said I may have pcos but I’m very thin and don’t have more facial hair than peach fuzz. What are other symptoms?

The biggest things are extra testosterone instead of estrogen irregular periods facial hair and chin acne and excess body hair along with hair loss on the scalp can also be common as well just because you don't have all of these symptoms doesn't mean that you don't have PCOS please feel free to reach out if I can be any help

I got my hormones checked by my primary care doctor, my estrogen was on the higher range of normal (286) highest I think is 300? and my testosterone was 75 (normal range under 55 for women). I stopped my birth control , which helped my periods regulate for the last 10 years, and each month after that my cycle length increased, 30,35,43,45 days ect. I began getting cystic acne on my back, jaw line (which led to me to believe it was hormone related, hence why I asked them to check) and now I haven't had a period since January and that was after a second blood test indicating my test. had gone up to 90 in 3 months. I didnt have cysts on my ovaries when I got an ultrasound but my OB said that didn't rule out the PCOS. I'm thin and have always been on the hairy side, never had regular periods even when I first started having them which is why I got on BC in the first place. I know if you're trying to get pregnant though, there is a diabetes medication that can help with that being that both PCOS and diabetes is a metabolic issue. So fix the metabolic issue, things start to regulate a little.

@moonchild6 thank you for sharing your story! My doctor refused to check hormone levels. I also asked to have vitamins checked and no luck. I’ve gone thru several Gyno that don’t listen to me. Finally was able to have my moms gyno and waited 3mo for my apt on the 17th! 🤞🏻🥳 I would say I’m more hairy than most girls but it’s blonde and thin and I’ve had it since I was a little girl (so not sure if that’s what other people with PCOS have)
