I would suggest a small very soft brush or even a wash cloth. It's better than nothing.

I use hello brand bubblegum toothpaste cause mint makes my mouth burn, especially with sensitive gums that easily cut
@snurmdog mint is the absolute worst. Burns so bad. Especially my tongue
I also have pretty extreme sensory issues so I use an electric toothbrush and that really seems to help along with having toothpaste which I actually like the flavor compared to other kinds I have a sensitive mint one but I know there's cinnamon there's cotton candy there's fruit there's a bunch of different flavors now which does make it easier personally
@daisy13 the electric toothbrush is worse for me, i saved up to get a sonic one so at least it doesn't buzz as much in the hand which is great but i can usually only manage it for 1 minute instead of 2 and that's a good day

Kid toothbrushes have helped me. I'm much more interested in brushing my teeth with an electric shark. Fun flavored kid toothpastes also helps. Products used don't matter as much if it helps make teeth get brushed

I know they make chewable toothpaste for elderly so that might be an option!
@Kikololo great suggestion
Hard feel you on that because same. No energy to do it and specially not in the mornings when I'm not feeling good and stupidly tired because of insomnia
They make toothpaste tablets now! You can keep them on your bedside table and just pop one in before you go to sleep! I think Lush makes them and a few other nice natural brands!
Look up oil pulling. It might be an alternative to try. Not a replacement for tooth brushing, but if the tooth brushing isn’t happening, maybe this could be something to try.
Have you noticed that antipsychotics cause bad gums too? Mine are awful since I started.
@Trustedbeginnings most meds don't do anything for me without bad side effects so i can't say much for that. I'm not on them. Definitely have the bleeding gums though
Using a water pic encourages me to take care of my teeth more
mouthwash!! invest in mouth wash, buy kids brands and flavors if you can't handle mint, we personally like mint because it feels cleaner but seriously, get some mouth wash it'll save your oral health it's so much better than nothing

@Beeble was at grocery today, why did i not recall this valuable suggestion
@MooieModer there's always more chances :)
I feel you so much. It’s hard for me to maintain personal hygiene and my oral health. You could try different things to motivate you to do it. I get new toothbrushes every once in a while, because that makes it less boring. You could try making these mundane things exciting by trying unique things. I’m unable to tell you how exactly. But as long as it’s different it doesn’t seem as boring, do you feel me?

Have you ever used dental tools? When I struggled to brush my teeth, doing a proper deep clean with real dental tools was super helpful
@SJP like the pick things? My heart is racing just thinking about them. I can't stand the sounds or the feeling or the object in mouth
@SJP that sounds like something I could benefit from since dentists won’t accept the insurance I have (state assisted) and I struggle with remembering to brush my teeth even if I write it down
@LadyTavali hard for me too. Flashbacks of teen years fingers in mouth or toothbrush handle to puke after over eating.
I can totally help, just let me know where you need it
@carate any specific offers? I'm just so stumped... I have no idea what might help
