Hello, so I've been experiencing heart palpitations for years, here lately tho they seem to have gotten worse and more intense. I have GAD and have mostly gotten used to them over the years but lately they have been unbearable. I've had an ekg and bloodwork that came back fine. I've also just been having really uncomfortable feelings in my chest. I go for walks everyday as well and I'm also having them while trying to walk. Should I get further testing done?

Both Anxiety and Iron-deficiency Anemia can cause heart palpitations (I have both). I always wear a smartwatch and have memorized my normal bpm range for when I’m sitting, standing, laying down, sleeping, before eating, after eating, anxiety attack, panic attack, etc. so that I can rule out a heart issue or something else. Someone told me, “If you think you’re having a heart issue, raise your arms above your head and just breathe. If you can do without any physical pain, then it’s likely not heart-related, just anxiety.” I check my bpm to make sure that aligns with that as well. If I’m still convinced something is wrong, then I make an appointment with my PCP or cardiologist. I have gotten several tests done from my cardiologist and they all came back normal. I would talk to your doctor and see what they say. Hope you get some answers.
