Hello 👋I'm new here but I can definitely relate to having terrible panic attacks. I've gone to the hospital before thinking I was having a heart attack. The brain is an amazing thing! What works me to snap out of it is getting up and walking doing laps in my backyard walking around a table while doing arm stretches. Just moving in whatever space you're in helps get your mind preoccupied. 👍🏻

Hi 🤗 My anxiety GAD l suspect was always an underlying issue for years. The last ten years, (Starting with SuperStorm SANDY, and accelerating to my mother's passing five years ago) has gotten worse. Covid really didn't contribute to it since my husband and l are hikers and photographers. This past year turning 65 opened up a whole can of worms. Being placed in a new age category and being treated differently, had been a rude awakening for us both. (My husband is handling it much better than l am.) Once the war erupted in Ukraine, l felt like Pandora's box was opened. Being half Italian and half Ukrainian, it's affecting people who we've become friends with over the past ten years. Last night we learned about a breeding family of dogs in Ukraine that was allegedly killed by a missile. The shock that went through me felt as if l had stuck my finger in a light socket We had been talking about this particular breeder with our friends in Ukraine and were saying, " maybe , just maybe somehow, we can bring one here." Right now I'm going on the assumption that there is so much misinformation that it didn't happen. Either I'm still in shock or it's disbelief... disbelief that someone would so carefully write the story about their demise, along with all of the dogs, including the puppies I've always been told how strong l am. I've always taken care of everyone. Learning to accept that this is truly something so out of my control, that l have to turn over to God is the hardest thing I've ever done. So that's where l am. So very sorry for the long intro...l just really need to connect tonight. Thanks so much for listening.

When they start try eating a pinch of salt or something sour. I was given this option as a grounding technique and it worked for me. I was told the sudden salty or sour forces your brain to focus on just that and nothing else which helps to calm you.
