Struggling with Hearing Loss and Lack of Support

I've been hard of hearing since I was 13 and at 16 was told that I will be completely deaf by 25 (I'm 19 turning 20 this year) and have noticed that my hearing is starting to worsen more and more like I was told it would. I don't have the money and don't qualify for hearing aids because my new doctors say "it's not that bad" and I'm "just being dramatic" but I need to find something that I can do to hopefully make it easier to go on day to day

I know you can get hearing apps on your phone if they refuse to listen. It's just a substitute, but I've been using it when I have to.

H.I.K.E(Hearing Impaired Kids Endowment) might be able to help provide hearing aids also go to an audiologist and ask for assistance with getting hearing aids

I have an unknown fluctuation hearing loss disease (we really don’t know what’s wrong) so my hearing changes a lot from day to day. One thing I always do when my hearing drops is to go into an ENT and they prescribe a steroid that helps bring the hearing back. It doesn’t always work but sometimes it does! If you have a sudden drop and there is a even a bit of change I suggest you get your hearing tested and to see an ENT. If they can catch it early you might be able to prolong the degenerative hearing loss. I feel for you, this is not an easy thing to go through. If you need to talk to someone or want some help feel free to reach out!

I think the best way to help you is to get an interpreter to help you

I think the best way to help yourself when you know that you’re hearing is going to go away is be a part of the deaf community and also learn sign language. They will gladly except you and guide you through this

I'm so sorry you are experiencing that!😥 And by what you said that doctor sucks!😠 And my advice is to see if they have any like groups or something that can help you raise money or donate to help you afford hearing aids! If you have medical records of that hearing loss than there is proof that you should qualify for hearing aids they have to prove that you would or lost your hearing (I forgot what it's called) hearing test to test your hearing. I can't really relate that much I have hearing loss mostly in my left ear. So sorry I couldn't help you more

All my past doctors have said that despite my hearing decreasing it's not at a point where I'm "in need" of them so I need to just let it progress then try again
