Through the different communities I’m a part of I’ve learned most have cultivated a gallows humor toward a lot of situations our health has put us in. Me personally I do try and laugh at them if I can muster it. All this to say what stories come to mind when reading this? I’ll go first… (in the comments) 💚

Was during my worst Crohn's flare up and I was still in process of getting yet diagnosed.. I had pooped the bed. At 30 years old. And next to my fiance. I woke up to him telling me he rolled his hand into it. Yeah, I was horrified! LOL, that was the most embarrassing moment of my life. And he made sure I didn't forget how much he must love me because did not let that go for years, told his whole family about it over dinner for good laughs, and just to win arguments would remind me of that time I pooped the bed and he rolled in it.

Two stories I find the most humorous: 1st: I have chronic pain and it really effects my dominant hand and impacts the grip on both my hands. Well I tried a menstrual cup and it got stuck. 🤣😬🤦♀️ No matter what I tried I couldn’t get it and in fact it felt like it was suctioned stronger. Well, after trying for a few hours I booked an appointment with an outpatient clinic. The doctor and I had a good laugh and she got to work… well she had trouble getting it out too! 🤣 I mean it was suctioned on and when she finally pulled it off she about pulled me with it and it mad and audible pop and came flying flinging it’s contents everywhere. I was dying of embarrassment already to have to go in the first place… I was cracking up at the absurdity at this point- poor doctor was panicking that I was going to pass out at the site of all the blood and was throwing those paper sheets over it and telling me not to look, etc. I told her blood - especially my own doesn’t bother me I won’t pass out if that’s what ur worried about. She said oh good … haha the other thing was I had just gotten new air-force 1 - white custom : not a drop 🤣😬 ugh so never again. 2nd story was when I was 16 I drove myself to have a pain in my upper right quadrant of my abdomen checked by a gastroenterologist specialists. This was my first doctors appointment that I went to by myself. I showed him where it hurts and was showing how it was something that slips behind my ribs but when it comes out I can touch it and it’s really tender so I think that’s what it is. He asked if I do this (touch it)a lot and I said only when it really hurts. He told me to stop touching it and considered that way it and I was so mortified I didn’t bring it up ever again… until I was forced to when I ended up in the hospital years later with gallbladder issues 😒 come to find out apparently the touch I had been doing was an actual testing method to check the gallbladder and since it was tender to touch it meant the test is positive and further testing should’ve been done. I had been suffering for 14 years before I got help for my gallbladder. Big WTF moment… I wish I remembered the doctor’s name as I would’ve reached out and let him know from the ER when I learned about the test 🤦♀️🤣
