Headmates from Disability Trauma

Does anyone else have headmates that are from the trauma of the pain from your physical disability? For example, I have had shoulder pain due to EDS since I was little (to the point where I used to try and break it because I didn’t know what was going on, I have never injured it) and I have a headmate who is missing that same arm (and has a fake one) I also have another one that I can think of that just struggles really bad walking worse than others, because of both EDS and POTS

We have alters who can handle specific symptoms better than others mostly but some like how you describe as well. Our little and Scar use a wheelchair on occasion cuz of chronic fatigue and/pain which are both things the body experience. They almost have a worse version of it due to being formed from that trauma.

Not to the extent of the arm injury, but I do have alters that feel our EDS symptoms more intensely, who are more prone to fainting spells, and who have more frequent dislocations/subluxations. I also have alters who are pain managers, and I adore how they help us ge through the day. One of them went into hiding earlier this year, so maybe if I praise her in this response she'll think about coming back lol
