Struggling with Hashimoto's and Weight Management

Hi guys, my name is Courtney, in 21 years old. I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's a couple years ago. Im really struggling managing my weight. I feel frustrated with doctors who only prescribe meds but not helping me figure out everyday solutions to help. Any advice or recommendations would be extremely helpful. Also, does brain fog a common symptom of Hashimoto's?

I recommend looking up Dr. Josh Redd. He knows a lot about hormone balance and the thyroid. Listening to the Just Ingredients podcast featuring him (I think it’s episode 6 of the podcast) will give you some recommendations on what you can do to help manage your hashimotos. Learn about hormone health and figure out where your hormones are at/what foods will help promote good hormone balance for you

Brain fog was my biggest indicator that something was wrong in my body! Definitely a key symptom of Hashimoto's for me. One thing I found that helped me lose weight is kind of figuring out how my metabolism worked. Everybody has a different body, for me I am a snacker and even if I tried dieting I craved food every hour on the hour, so I stopped forcing myself to eat big meals with no snacks in between and instead let myself snack with tinier meals throughout the day. This kept my metabolism up and running and let me lose weight quick. Also I completely avoid gluten and dairy as recommended by my doctor and I can't express how much of a difference it makes. Gluten makes me lethargic and brain foggy so I would definitely avoid that if you can, plus my thyroid swells like a balloon! Good luck!!
