Seeking Advice for Fibro-Related Vertigo

Has anyone experienced vertigo they believe to be related to fibro? I was diagnosed with fibro a few months ago and then about 4 weeks ago i started experiencing severe dizziness. 3 weeks later I still have the same dizziness and now severe nausea as well that does not go away with any over the counter or prescription nausea medication. The doctors are very unhelpful and vestibular PT is booked months out. I’m miserable and cannot function. Anyone have any recommendations/similar experiences? I’ve had no changes in meds and have never experienced vertigo before in my life

Have you been tested/checked for POTS? It could also be a sign of migraine, did you get a headache afterwards? Sometimes before I get a migraine I get nausea and vertigo

I do have occasional problems with vertigo and I have fibromyalgia. It's not gotten as bad as that, but I do often assume it's related. I had issues with it before my official diagnosis and just added it to my list of many mysterious autoimmune symptoms lol. I'm sorry, though, that you're so miserable and that doctors aren't being helpful 😞. I can very much relate. I wish I had some suggestions myself. But just know you're not alone.

Nausea comes from a dizziness. Ask your dr. To give you something for both and try to find ways to reduce your inflammation with not eating processed foods. Meditation to calm and soothe you.

It’s common to have POTS as well as fibro. Does the dizziness happen when you’re standing? Does your heart rate jump 30 bpm or more when you go from laying down to standing?

I have this all the time. Do not have POTS.

Sorry if this is a silly suggestion, but have you tried Dramamine/meclazine for the dizziness and nausea? Its just otc but its helps me alot when i feel that way. I get horrible motion sickness and sometimes vertigo. So I just carry it everywhere with me.

I take over the counter Meclizine when I have vertigo problems. Helps me immensely. Something I tell everyone, as a retired nurse, is that I switched to woman doctors decades ago because they listen. Much less judgment.
