Constant Snapping in My Hand: Is It Just Carpal Tunnel?

I’m having issues with my wrist and hand the drs are blaming carpal tunnel only but I feel like there is a band snapping all the time and I can’t use my hand hardly at all. Anyone have anything similar?

Carpal tunnel? Over use syndrome? Tendinitis? Arthritis? Bursitis? You sound like not only are you having pain but confusion about what to do? Start with your primary doctor and go from there.

I have been to 3 Drs In the past two weeks they did x-rays they didn’t show anything broken and they need to do an MRI but it takes time and unfortunately I’m dealing with the Indian insurance so they don’t do anything quickly meanwhile I’m in a lot of pain and there’s some thing sticking out beside definitely whether it’s a tendon or muscle that’s inflamed none of the doctors have even really tried to look at it very closely they just wanna throw the word carpal tunnel out and not checking anything else

I just googled popping sensation in hand/wrist and www.mainephysicaltherapy.com said this: “The popping sensation, also known as crepitus, is frequently caused by a buildup of gas between joints, but it can also be related to tendons, ligaments or other soft tissue rubbing over bone. A common guideline is that popping sensations shouldn't be cause for concern unless they are accompanied by pain.” Since you have pain and whatever this is, is debilitating, I would suggest pressing the issue further and requesting a referral to a hand specialist to see if you can get a specialized look into the problem instead of just from a general practitioner’s stand point. They can miss a lot of things sometimes, I’d look into seeing a hand specialist. Hope your hand and wrist gets better soon!

I had a band or tendon get inflamed, and the only way to get it fixed was a release of the nerve by cutting it. I had dequervains synovitis. I never knew what it was nor could I ever pronounce it but I felt something snap in my hand and it was never the same. After surgery it is 95% better but I’ll have a day or two it’s off aka pain. I really hope you find the answer. I would just keep going to hand specialists until they figure it out.

I will definitely check into all of these and appreciate all your help I have a referral for an MRI and a specialist but don’t know when I can get in and I cannot work because it hurts so bad and I’m really starting to get stressed out about it sorry I didn’t see these sooner. I found a few things online but my doctor did not appreciate it ha ha Ha
