Has anyone here ever suffered from hair loss as a result of acute stress and/or a particularly bad mental illness episode?

I did after my divorce during the years a court proceeding and abuse. My dr recommend a high dose biotin. Antidepressant and cortisol therapy because my levels were so darn high! It took a couple years but my hair is mostly back to normal

I did after an operation 4 years ago and nothing has changed when thought I am on many multi vits etc. It isn't something I nor.ally talk about as being a woman it is very hard to face. But I am on a lot of meds ( not listed them all yet) I also have a lot of health conditions...one being Fibromyalgia and o e of the conditions to that is hair loss!!! Just seems I can not win!

I was losing my hair and it was turning white(I'm.34,) when my mum was alive because she was a very sick woman and the stress caused it.. but after she passed away i stopped losing it and my hair turned a beautiful autumn red I had brown hair prior . And recently started taking prenatal vitamins for my skin and hair

Yes, but it also turned out that I was iron deficient and hair loss is a sign of that too x

Not here, I take great care of my hair and take gummies to keep it strong. I use shampoo and conditioner and argan oil. I have kinky hair, I'm black. I recommend it

yes, it’s a pretty normal occurrence for me when i’m going through a bad episode. i highly recommend using a scalp scrubber and a caffeine scalp serum. it’s helped my hair so much
