So I’ve been on Haegarda for a few years now, but I still get a lot of anxiety with giving myself an injection in my stomach. When I was on Berinert I had no issues giving myself an IV but giving myself a shot is another story. Anyone else? Or tips and tricks?

Thanks for the tip! That’s a good idea. True, I could definitely post on fb. I really like the anonymity of this app and I’m afraid I might get judged for freaking out about such a little thing when we have all gone through a 100x worse. I feel like it’s a mental block more than anything

Hey! So I had this issue with my rescue med, Firazyr, until after I’d taken my first dose and went from violently ill and in extreme pain to completely normal in an hour. That relief overrides any anxiety I might have about injecting lol. But I’ve never used an injectable for prevention so I can’t exactly relate to what you’re going through. Maybe you can try to think about injecting yourself as saving yourself from the misery of an attack? You know like, if I inject myself I won’t have to go through that later. I know it’s not the best advice but it’s all I’ve got. 🤷🏻‍♀️ have you checked out the HAEA page on Facebook? People ask for advice on there all the time, and a lot more people with HAE use it. I hope you can overcome your anxiety! Stay safe and be well. 💕
