Has anyone considered or got surgery to fix GERD? I don’t get relief with PPIs, change of foods etc. Have to sleep at 90 degrees (sitting) waking up chocked with thick gelatin like mucous, burning from top down. Any doctor that is willing to do it? I will be going with my 4th doctor in 2 years, all of them downplay symptoms or say take this and that and no surgery so far. useless

Probiotics are curing mine! Take them religiously with some kombucha and really good probiotic yogurt every day. Stay away from alcohol, coffee, red wine and spicy foods. You will notice a huge difference!

I have had fundoplication surgery twice. After the first surgery, I didn't have any episodes for 1 years. Then the stitches popped and my symptoms came back, full-force. I had thr surgery again, but damaged my vagus nerve during the process. Now I only throw up when I'm stressed.

I am more nervous about the poor relief and long term use of PPIs. Thanks for sharing your opinion

I’m nervous about surgery. What does surgery entail? I think so far not drinking carbonated beverages and not eating spicy foods helps the most. But you’re right it still hasn’t gone away completely. I’m hoping once I loose weight it will go away 😥
