Hello everyone. After being sick for two years I can add a new diagnosis for GI related issues. How many here with gastroparesis that actually have needed a feeding tube?

I can relate. I’m 53 and usually have a hard time losing weight. I’ve lost 30 pounds since October 2021 and I’m still losing. I fear a feeding tube. I’m considering surgical options to help. I’m on reglan now and it helps but I still can’t eat more than 800 calories a day.

I take zofran and it helps enough. I also can’t eat more than 800 cal a day and it is a scary feeling isn’t it?? I dread the thought of doctors telling me I need a feeding tube! I’m at my minimum weight before doctors start worrying 😬

I have lost 55 pounds over the course of 2 years. I was diagnosed with celiac disease last year. I have faithfully followed a gluten-free diet. The most recent problem now is that I can’t eat. If I eat anything my stomach cramps and I throw up. It even cramps drinking liquids. This has progressively gotten worse over the past 6 months. In 2 weeks I will have another egd and colonoscopy. I have always been of small stature but now I cannot get my weight above 98 pounds.

I know the feeling! I’m 5’2. I used to weigh 140-150. I got down to 100 in just 2 months and I haven’t managed to stay above 110 for years now :( I’m seeing a new doctor next month because I’m getting worse

I’ve been properly diagnosed for two years now! I haven’t needed one yet but I worry that it’s progressing to that point. I’m managing my diet to the best of my abilities to avoid getting one but it’s hard.

I had mine for 2 years. It’s been out for about 3 or so years now and haven’t had to talk about getting another one 😊

I will at some point. My stomach works at 40%. I eat what I want when I want. Small meals. Usually a meal a day with snacks. Then I still never know what sets the nausea off.
