Has anyone got the gastric bypass surgery for gastroparesis? Not the gastric sleeve. The gastric bypass takes out your whole entire stomach leaving the tube from your throat to your intestines. My mom had that surgery for a different reason but we have to self advocate because doctors and hospitals have not been helping me. You can still physically eat food it just goes straight to where it needs to be without your stomach doing that job for you. Just wondering!! Thoughts, comments and opinions appreciated!! Also there was a small study on this in 2016.

They must have changed names around some bc I had the gastric sleeve where 80% of my stomach was removed. My surgery I lost 250+ lbs, no more pre diabetic no high cholesterol, now I have low blood pressure, from really high blood pressure, and after 10 yrs from surgery my hiatal hernia has popped back up and now I have severe gastroparesis.
@Britt I could’ve gotten them mixed up. That’s what I’m scared of because like what if I did do the surgery and it doesn’t fix the problem then I’ll have gastroparesis and no stomach. ☹️
