The worries are valid. All mental health issues can be passed down to your children but does always happen. I personally had no diagnosed mental or physical health issues as a child but as an adult have been diagnosed with one thing after another not knowing that some of these things are in my family history until after being diagnosed. Because I wasn't a sickly child I never thought about it and I had two children. Now I have a son with ASD, ADHD, and IED, and my daughter has had GI issues since birth. I feel bad that some of my problems have now effected two people in this world and they will have life long problems as well, but I wouldn't change it for the world. I always knew I was a child person and I love my children with every ounce of my being and wouldn't change a thing. But they can learn from my experiences how to treat and handle their mental and physical health. I think, if you really want children then the risk may be worth it.

I worry so bad about having kids. I never want to end up like my mother. I'm so scared to have kids that I would somehow mess them up or not help them properly. I've said since very young I don't want kids. Then my bf came into the picture with an image of 6 kids, a white picket fence house and husband. None of which has happened yet and I'm not saying 'you haven't mat the right person', some people worry for very valid reasons or medical reasons.

omg same! I don't want to disappoint him but I also don't want to permanently mess up anyone let alone my own child.
