I am SO frustrated with my mental health. Earlier this year, the psychiatric nurse practitioner I was seeing for meds pretty much said I was beyond her expertise and referred me to a board certified psychiatrist. We were working well together, but I just recently got word that he is RETIRING! So I have to switch AGAIN! And one aspect of my obsessive-compulsive disorder is changing any sort of medical professionals. I have an amazing husband, a caseworker, and a peer support specialist who will all sit in with me on my first visit with my new nurse practitioner, because I often become so petrified with anxiety and fear that I literally lock up and go non-verbal. Then, my team has to speak for me, and I end up embarrassed and depressed. Anybody relate?
