Frustrated with Doctors' Responses to Health Concerns

Just curious, how many people have had multiple issues with symptoms but have heard the excuse "but your blood work looks great"...?

This has been the case with me for years. I continue having symptoms despite great labs. Recently I got additional blood work done and my doctor is now referring me to a rheumatologist because he thinks that I have a different autoimmune disease now. Luckily this doctor listened when I said I wasn’t feeling well.

Have had puffy face swollen hands stomach issues ect blood work comes back normal 😑 im sad and scare dont know what to do anymore, this is affecting my job and personal life.

i too have hashi’s and yet have all normal bloodwork. So they treated me the same way. Werent going to treat me until my thyroid was destroyed which didn’t make any sense at all. This last time I went in to have my blood work done my TPO AB (antibodies) were in the 500’s so they finally put me on some meds for the thyroid. I do know the gluten and sugar affect me horribly and they both are so difficult to give up. All health…good or bad begins in the gut. Good gut health does help. Go on a good cleanse then start a gluten free diet. It won’t cure you but it sure will make you feel better.

me too!! i have hashimoto’s and went to an endocrinologist who told me it’s “normal hashi levels” and when i asked to specifically test the T3 and T4 hormones she said it’s “bad practice” to do that :(

Wow, I've heard it's hard to find a good thyroid doctor. I havnt seen mine yet, it takes forever to get in but I'm dreading it honestly.

it’s makes me upset to hear, i don’t feel healthy. something feels wrong and i know there is. i just wish my blood work would show that i’m not doing good. i just wish doctors would listen to me. i know they see me as a child still; but i don’t want another grown adult talking in a baby voice to me as if i don’t understand. (i’m sorry for venting i just needed it off my chest.)

Keep looking. There is a good Dr. out there somewhere. It took me YRS to find a good primary doctor and she's the one who found my Hashimotos. It is exhausting but you know if a doctor cares or not. Don't give up!

ME! My doctor told me my thyroid and hormones look great through blood work even though I felt like a hot mess. I decide to go to a functional doctor and turns out I’m all kinds of messed up and have Hashi’s 😅 “normal” thyroid numbers do not mean optimal for you! Keep trying different doctors until someone listens and looks into it further. You know your body better than anyone, keep trying until someone listens! 💜

I've been having crazy hair loss for a while... Was told my blood work was normal and i even tried special Biotin shampoo but nothing helps... Pretty sure losing a literal fistful of hair everyday isnt normal but idk my old doctor was full of "I think you may have hashimotos" and other vague diagnosis so I didnt even get a for sure answer. Hopefully my new doc takes me seriously

Hello. It took me years to figure out I had a thyroid disorder. I knew something was off as I constantly felt tired. My liver enzymes were a little elevated as well as my cholesterol. I started to get dry itchy skin, I just found out this year I have Hashimotos when my hair started falling out by the clumps. I found a new primary doctor and she tested a different part of the thyroid and it showed it is highly elevated for Thyroiditis. Ultrasound shoes one side of my thyroid a little enlarged. I found an amazing product for my hair loss called Viori.com. My hair is no longer an issue. It's saved my hair!! Please let me know if you try it out and it works for you. I hope you get the answers you are looking for, don't give up till you find the right doctor and you will be able to tell if they actually care or not.

j have a really good primary care doc, she said she doesn't want to turn me over to an endocrinologist because I'll fall through the cracks. I saw one once and he had no interest in me.

honestly SAAAAAME! Then, because I wanted a second opinion, my doctor dropped me from her practice. With no reasoning. Honestly sounds so illegal. I've found more help from tiktok and YouTube than her anyway lol it's sad but true. Couldn't STAND hearing that sentence anymore. Already lost 20 pounds and feeling better👏👏
