I’ve been experiencing headaches and neck pain almost daily for months now. Sometimes they seem to be more like migraines, though I’m not clear on what separates headaches from migraines. Almost always accompanying the headache or migraine is sensitivity to light and neck pain. I’ve thought it was caused my not drinking enough water, but I don’t think that’s it. It could also be anxiety but I get them even when I’m relaxed. I have no idea what’s causing these and it’s making me a bit worried. I told my psychiatrist about it and she said it could be from taking ibuprofen every time I get a headache. But, I’ve recently found ibuprofen to no longer be helpful and have switched to naproxen. Any idea of what this could be or what causes them are worth sharing!!
One possibility for your headaches and neck pain could be stress or anxiety, as mentioned in one of the replies. Another possibility is Medication Overuse Headache, which can occur with regular use of painkillers like paracetamol, ibuprofen, or naproxen. It's important to consult a doctor for proper diagnosis and management advice, especially since these headaches are interfering with your daily life.
